Dorset Chamber Music Residency (DCMR) is a community-driven classical chamber music festival led by Alix Raspé and Fanya Wyrick-Flax of the flute and harp duo, kairos. This summer (June 25 - July 2), seven musicians will be in residence in the small town of Dorset, VT for one music-filled week. DCMR musicians-in-residence will engage the Dorset community with five vibrant performances in local community venues, including United Church of Dorset and East Rupert, Dorset Village Library, and the Dorset Colony House.
Throughout the 20th Century, the Dorset Colony House (pictured above) was home to writers, poets, and actors as they worked on their latest projects. This summer, the Colony House will open its doors to seven musicians as they share their music with the nurturing community of Dorset. The musicians will spend the week living at the historic Dorset Colony House, which provides them with a full kitchen as well as rehearsal and practice space. Musicians-in-residence draw inspiration from the Dorset Colony House’s artistic past as they pursue their own musical goals.
